Well, it looks like TPPK's road has finally come to an end. Why it took this long to fix this clear exploitation of the Diablo II game system is beyond me. Were they lazy? Did they not want to kill activity (as I'm sure it may)? Who knows. In any case, it appears that it may be gone for good now. I personally haven't tested it or anything yet, I've just looked the posts over the PTR forums.
When I started doing this 8-9 years ago, I never knew it (TPPK) and I would still be around for this long. Similarly, when I coined the term 'TPPK' in order to name my first TPPK D2HackIt module, I never knew it would catch on like it did. And catch on it has! Enough to be used in official Diablo II patch notes, even... that makes me a bit proud, at least!
In any event, I'm not sure what else to say. It's been a fun ride, with many ups and downs, but it HAS been a long time coming. The game has been dying, less and less people have been playing, and Blizzard continues to shit all over the game by not supporting it, creating horribly delayed and of minimal use patches, etc. Personally, like many others, I've lost any drive to keep playing and creating things for this game, as it's been nearly 10 years that I have owned and played this game to various degrees of activity... damn, that's a long time. It's been fun, and hopefully it can continue to some degree even without the basis of enjoyment that many people experienced the game through, TPPK.
Well... I guess the game can be fun at times without it, but it's still an unnecessary blow to hit us with, especially since it's coming so late in the game... I find it hard to believe that "fixing" TPPK will have any effect in terms of activity, etc... but whatever, Blizzard has not always made the most sense in the way they do things.
Oh well... I guess we all still have Diablo III to look forward to, right?! (Okay, maybe in 3+ years, given Blizzard's release schedule and massive delays...) Also, maybe Diablo II 1.13b can be fun anyway... we'll see... although it looks like they fail again and haven't really changed/added any substantial things.
Anyways, discuss!
